THIS COLLECTION IS SOLD OUT AND NO LONGER AVAILABLE

The inspiration for this collection began for me with the word “Imagine” from the famous John Lennon song.  Imagine a world where everything is as it should be.  A world in balance, where integrity, honor, courage and politeness are the signposts.  I was inspired by an amazing Samurai exhibit I saw in the Tokugawa museum in Nagoya Japan. Surprised by the weaving techniques used to create the armor and the ultimate impression of power that was in the final look. Since all of my collections use weaving as a starting point I was inspired as to how I could create this impression of power using my design vocabulary.  I was interested in the combination of the ethereal quality seen in the works of Michael Angelo and Japanese artist Tomoko Konoike, the magical, primitive dream states you see in Rousseau paintings and the inspiring book Bushido by Inazo Nitobe which is an essay on Samurai ethics, I mixed these inspirations to create this feeling of a warrior not fighting to conquer but a warrior fighting for what is right, fighting to bring back a sense of balance.  A warrior who knows that power has to come first from within and that power should never be imposed on someone else. My collections always work together from one season to the next and the women who have been collecting my designs from the beginning are always pleased with the timeless and adaptable sense of my collections. Enjoy.
